“Huayen Offerings to Buddhas and Celestial Beings Dharma Event and Chinese New Year Cundī Blessing Service”
ABLS will host Huayen Offerings to Buddhas and Celestial Beings Dharma event and Chinese New Year Cundī Blessing service from January 29th, 2023 (Sunday) through February 5th, 2023 (Sunday). Through the repentance and mantra recitation, we will start the New Year’s accumulation of merit and wisdom by settling the defiled and deluded mind while awakening the state of mind corresponding to Cundī Bodhisattva’s wisdom and compassion.
On January 29th starting at 9 AM, there will be the ceremony of Huayen Offerings to Buddhas and Celestial Beings, and the Chinese New Year Prayer service. The afternoon session will include the Medicine Buddha Honoring service, Eighty-Eight Buddha Repentance and Meng Shan Food Bestowal Ceremony.
On each day from January 30th (Monday) through February 4th (Saturday), the assembly will chant the Cundī Sutra and Cundī Mantra (Incantation) from 4:30 to 6 PM. On February 2nd (Thursday) the session will start at 3:30 PM due to Dharma class in the evening.
On the last day of February 5th starting at 9 AM, there will be the Cundī Repentance and Cundī Mantra in the morning; and Food Offering Ceremony at noon; Cundī Sutra, Eighty-Eight Buddha Repentance and Meng Shan Food Bestowal Ceremony in the afternoon.
ABLS has opened the Buddha Hall on Sundays. Please make an appointment to participate inside. The Food Offering Ceremony should still be joined outside because of the high volume of visitors. Lunch is not offered during the pandemic.
From Monday to Saturday:
The inside of Buddha Hall will open 10:00 – 15:00 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday;
The courtyard outside of Buddha Hall will open 10:00 – 15:00 Tuesday to Saturday;
The Welcome Court, Dining Hall, Library and other areas are not open to the public yet.
Lectures such as Expounding the Avatamsaka Sutra, Introduction to the Vimalakīrti Sutra are held on ZOOM as before.

In addition, registration has begun for the new year of 2023: year-long offering to the Triple Gem, blessing plates for the living, light offerings to Buddhas, pacifying Tai Sui (for the birth year of the Rabbit, Rooster, Mouse, Horse, Dragon) and blessing plates for the deceased.
